A Vision for Education
The need for hands-on learning has never been more clear with poor test scores and vacant STEM jobs across our country. With a goal to promote engagement in the classroom and increase interest in the sciences, Jim Caruthers from Purdue University's Davidson School of Chemical Engineering developed a science curriculum (then named Hardware Store Science).
In collaboration with The Pantheon, a business incubator and innovation hub located in Vincennes, Indiana, Kreg Battles, a local retired science instructor, adapted the program so The Pantheon could begin classroom integration at the high school level. The curriculum was launched at Lincoln High School in 2021 and South Knox High School in 2022 with much success.

With generous funds from CenterPoint Energy Foundation, Brian Southern and Logan Overman joined the team to give the curriculum a new life. With innovative resources available through The Pantheon’s business community, Pantheon Academy launched in 2024 with a goal to be integrated in classrooms nationwide.
